Animal Agency - Giving Animals a Voice in their Training

About the A.B.C
The A.B.C. provides ethical, evidence-based behaviour and training support for dogs and cats, helping owners better understand their animals and build positive, cooperative relationships.
Whether you are seeking support with behaviour challenges or would like to teach your dog or cat new skills, we follow a clear, structured approach designed to support both animal welfare and long-term success.
If you’ve recently welcomed a rescue dog or cat, brought home a new puppy or kitten, or are navigating changes with your companion, the A.B.C. offers personalised training and behaviour programmes tailored to each animal’s individual needs, history, and environment.
Our Approach
At the A.B.C., we view training as a way to empower animals. By offering choice, predictability, and control, training supports animal welfare while respecting animals’ autonomy, emotional wellbeing, and intelligence.
Our methods focus on building trust, clear communication, and positive learning experiences for both animals and their caregivers.
Online Behaviour Consultations (UK-wide)
Canine and feline behaviour consultations are offered via veterinary referral and delivered primarily online to clients throughout the UK and internationally, with in-person consultations available in Bath, Bristol and South Gloucestershire.
Our consultations provide personalised, evidence-based guidance tailored to your animal’s needs and history. We work only within areas of proven expertise and collaborate with a double board-certified Veterinary Behaviourist on more complex cases.
For therapeutic diet plans, a full veterinary history is required to ensure recommendations are safe and appropriate. Nutrition reports are sent directly to your veterinarian for review, with clients included in correspondence where appropriate.

About the Founder
Zoe brings a uniquely global perspective to animal behaviour and care. After completing her degree, her overseas work began as a Reef Researcher and Dive Master in Central America, before transitioning to professional animal training as a Marine Mammal Specialist in Dubai. There, she was mentored by internationally recognised trainer Al Kordowski and earned Professional Membership with the International Marine Animal Trainers’ Association (IMATA).
Over the years, Zoe has worked with a wide range of exotic and domestic species, including dolphins, dugongs, sea lions, and sharks, as well as companion animals in private homes. She later served as Animal Care Manager at a seal rescue charity in Ireland, supporting the rehabilitation and release of native wildlife.
Today, Zoe combines her scientific background, hands-on experience, and deep commitment to animal welfare to provide evidence-based behaviour consultations and training for cats and dogs. Her approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in years of real-world experience.
In addition to her behaviour work, Zoe is the Co-Founder of the Psychiatric Assistance Dogs Foundation, a registered charity supporting clinically referred individuals with mental health conditions to train assistance dogs through an ethical, welfare-led online training platform delivered alongside qualified trainers.
This work underpins her trauma-aware, welfare-centred approach to behaviour support.
Clinical Animal Husbandry & Cooperative Care
Zoe has specialised expertise in clinical animal husbandry and cooperative care training, having trained animals to participate willingly in procedures such as:
-
Blood, gastric, fecal, and blowhole sampling
-
Oral hydration and papilloma treatment
-
Eye drop administration and dental care
-
Sonograms and other routine veterinary procedures
This specialised skillset informs her current work, helping companion animals build confidence and participate voluntarily in their own care
